SUMMARY:Empowering Veterans Stafford
DESCRIPTION:\nA five-day program designed to empower veterans with PTSD\, a
 nxiety\, stress or other mental health concerns\, with practical tools to 
 enhance their wellbeing\, using Breath Meditation technique.\nGriffith Uni
 versity is the program delivery partner for the Empowering Veterans Progra
 m\, with facilitation provided by the International Association of Human V
 alues (IAHV) and clinical oversight and evaluation by the Griffith Univers
 ity School of Medicine and Dentistry.\nThe Empowering Veterans program use
 s the Sudarshan Kriya yoga (SKY) Breath Meditation technique\, delivered v
 ia evidence-based workshops designed to empower veterans with PTSD\, anxie
 ty\, stress or other mental health concerns\, with practical tools to enha
 nce their wellbeing.\nFor 20 years\, IAHV have been deploying the “Proje
 ct Welcome Home Troops” program in the US. Griffith University wish to p
 ilot delivery in Australia to evaluate its effectiveness for ex-serving AD
 F members.\nThe program seeks to offer tailored workshops for the Australi
 an veteran community\, supported by a program evaluation\, with the aim of
  enhancing mental health\, emotional resilience\, and overall quality of l
 ife.\nThe program has also been featured in the documentary Almost Sunris
 e\, which follows two Iraq War veterans\, and in Free the Mind\, which do
 cuments meditation-based therapy for U.S. veterans returning from Iraq and
  Afghanistan.\nThe program will be delivered by John Osborne\, Program Dir
 ector and Lead Trainer of Project Welcome Home Troops\, who will be travel
 ling from the United States to facilitate the sessions. He has more than 4
 0 years’ experience teaching breathwork and meditation\, and over 15 yea
 rs working specifically with U.S. veterans returning from Iraq and Afghani
 stan through SKY-based programs.\nThe program has also been featured in th
 e documentary Almost Sunrise\, which follows two Iraq War veterans\, and 
 in Free the Mind\, which documents meditation-based therapy for U.S. veter
