A Day in the Life of Leanne

Each year on 12 May, International Nurses Day is a chance to recognise the compassion, expertise and dedication nurses bring to their work every day. At Rehab Management, we’re proud to work alongside incredible nurses who make a lasting difference in the lives of the people we support.

To mark the occasion, we’ve sat down with one of our wonderful nurses, Leanne, to learn more about her journey, what inspires her, and the impact she’s making through her work.

What is your role?

Team Leader – Nurse

What does an average day look like for you?

A day in the life for me never looks the same twice. One moment I’m deep in admin and case planning, the next I’m out on the road for a worksite visit, meeting new people and problem‑solving on the spot. I love the mix of being out and about, supporting my clients, and jumping in to assist my team whenever they need me. It keeps the work meaningful, dynamic, and enjoyable. 🙂

Why did you choose to work in this role?

After 12 years of clinical nursing, I chose to transition into Rehabilitation Consulting to broaden my professional scope and develop skills beyond the hospital setting. This move has allowed me to expand into case management, vocational rehabilitation, and apply my experience in stakeholder coordination in a more strategic way. Over the past two years, the role has been a natural progression that builds on my clinical foundation while opening pathways into leadership, complex case management, and broader injury‑management responsibilities.

What do you love most about your role?

I love working as a Rehabilitation Consultant because every day is different. My role gives me a balance between administrative duties, worksite visits, and meeting new people. I enjoy being out and about, building relationships, and developing personalised return‑to‑work strategies that genuinely support someone’s recovery. In January, I moved into the Team Leader role, which has allowed me to bring my clinical education experience into a leadership capacity and support the development of my team. Fun fact about Leanne

I love staying active, and I’m currently training for my fifth half‑marathon later this year. Running keeps me humbled, energised, and grounded — it’s my way of resetting 🙂
