Celebrating International Day of People with Disability

International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations (UN) observed day recognised on 3 December each year. IDPwD aims to raise awareness, understanding and acceptance of the 4.4 million people with disability in Australia. At Rehab Management, our team not only promotes healthy lives and well-being for people with disability but also ensures that people with disability have sustainable employment opportunities. To celebrate this year’s IDPwD, we ask two of our Rehabilitation Consultants, Miriam and Ray, how Rehab Management lived this daily.

“At Rehab Management. I empower people with disabilities to establish positive ways in which they can communicate with employers about their individual needs to succeed at work. This can include identifying appropriate modifications and reasonable adjustments with consideration for their vacation. I utilise a strengths-based approach when working alongside my clients and relevant stakeholders to implement tools and strategies that help themselves and their employers create an inclusive and healthy work environment.”

Miriam, Rehabilitation Consultant

“Our values at Rehab Management guide us in creating personalised rehabilitation to prioritise the health and well-being of our clients with disabilities. We don’t just focus on recovery. We’re dedicated to enhancing the overall quality of life for those pieces, ensuring healthy lives and promoting wellbeing for people with disabilities is at the core of what we do. We actively work towards creating sustainable employment opportunities for people with disability – we’re a community that values diversity, embraces innovation and believes in the power of inclusion and caring.”

Ray, Rehabilitation Consultant

On this International Day of People with Disability, let’s come together and promote healthy lives and well-being for people with disability and also ensure that people with disability have sustainable employment opportunities.
