Rehab Management Launches Applications for 2025 Graduate Program: A Pathway to Making a Meaningful Impact
Rehab Management, a leading national accredited occupational rehabilitation provider, is excited to announce the opening of applications for its 2025 Graduate Program, RM Academy. With over 25 years of experience in delivering workplace rehabilitation services, the program offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a fulfilling career that makes a significant difference in people’s lives.
Renee Thornton, CEO of Rehab Management, emphasised the importance of the program. “Our Graduate Program is designed to nurture and develop the next generation of occupational rehabilitation professionals. We are committed to providing comprehensive training and support to ensure our graduates are equipped to deliver the highest standard of care to our clients. We believe in empowering lives together, and this program is a testament to that commitment.”
Marcela Bowie, now an employee who completed the RM Academy, learned about the program while doing a placement during her Master’s in Rehabilitation Counselling at Rehab Management’s Gold Coast office. She recalled, “During my placement, a colleague explained the benefits of RM Academy, which includes both classroom and field mentoring. It was daunting to enter the field of occupational rehab with its new tasks and broad applications, but the Academy provided me with the mentoring and support I needed.”
Marcela found great value in the collaborative environment. “Meeting other graduates in similar roles across different offices was incredibly helpful. We could share information, learn together, and collaborate. This support system was crucial as a new consultant, allowing me to communicate, get feedback, and benefit from the whole team’s skills, which ultimately is good for our clients.”
Marcela’s prior experience as an acupuncturist, where she provided integrative care for cancer patients, fertility, pain, and neurological conditions, has been invaluable in her role. Her advice to new graduates: “Be prepared for a lot of learning and adjustment. Stepping out of your comfort zone is challenging, but the RM Academy offers comprehensive support. The program allows you to gain skills faster, making the journey less overwhelming.”
Marcela is now a rehabilitation consultant and enjoys helping clients get back to meaningful work after injury. “”One of the things I love most about my role is the blend of psychological and physical support I provide. It’s incredibly rewarding to make a tangible difference in people’s lives and see them achieve their goals. The variety in my work keeps it exciting, and knowing I can help people on multiple levels is truly fulfilling.”
Comprehensive Support and Training
RM Academy spans six months, beginning with a four-week intensive induction. Graduates are gradually introduced to their client caseloads, ensuring they build confidence and competence before taking on more responsibilities. They receive a thorough overview of all aspects of occupational rehabilitation and are paired with an office buddy and a team leader for additional guidance. Accepted graduates are employed on an ongoing basis with Rehab Management, ensuring stable and continuous professional development.
Rehab Management is calling for applications from graduates of Allied Health degrees, including Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, and Rehabilitation Counselling. The program commences in late January 2025, and recruitment begins mid-year.
